PERRYDALE -- Cheyenne Locke scored 20 points -- without playing a minute of the fourth quarter -- and the Perrydale girls basketball team throttled Jewell Friday, 73-18.
The Pirates picked up another victory Saturday, led by Brooke Barnes' 19 points, defeating Southwest Christian 36-29 in a nonleague contest.
Friday, Barnes added 15 points, Hannah Mitchell scored 12 points and Sierra Grimsbo had 10 points to round out the Pirates' scorers in double figures.
Perrydale (14-3, 7-0 Casco) has won three in a row since dropping two straight and stands as the lone undefeated team in the Casco League.
The Pirates, who picked up a 50-29 win over Country Christian Tuesday after the Itemizer-Observer went to press, will host Falls City Friday and Crosshill Christian Tuesday.
FALLS CITY SNAPS LOSING SKID: George Hillebrand scored 27 points and Ethan McConnell added 11 points to help the Falls City boys basketball team snap a nine-game losing streak with Monday's 57-39 victory at Willamette Valley Christian. Tristan Yeager added 10 points in the victory, which saw the Mountaineers (3-13, 0-6 Casco) outscore WVC 21-12 in the fourth quarter. Falls City dropped its other two contests last week, falling 51-21 to St. Paul Friday and 69-29 to Country Christian Jan. 8. McConnell scored 14 points in each contest to lead the Mounts. Falls City will travel to face crosscounty rival Perrydale Friday.

FALLS CITY TOPS WILLAMETTE VALLEY CHRISTIAN: Senior Carrie Mack scored 12 points and freshman Brittany Varney added eight points as Falls City topped Willamette Valley Christian Monday, 32-20, in Casco League action. Falls City (7-8, 4-4 Casco) fell in its other two games last week, losing 62-26 to St. Paul Friday and 52-26 to Country Christian Jan. 8. Junior Anna Dixon scored 11 points in the loss to St. Paul and 10 points against Country Christian to lead Falls City. The Mounts will travel to face Perrydale Friday for a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
