PERRYDALE -- Brooke Barnes scored 43 points in two wins for the Perrydale girls basketball team last week.
In a 50-29 victory over Country Christian Jan. 15, Barnes scored a game-high 20 points and Cheyenne Locke added 13 points to lead the Pirates (16-3, 9-0 Casco League after Tuesday's 64-7 win over Crosshill Christian).
Barnes pumped in 23 points Friday, when Perrydale defeated crosscounty rival Falls City, 61-4. Ashley Griffin added 12 in the win.
Perrydale remains the lone unbeaten team in the Casco League.

FALLS CITY PICKS UP WIN: The Mountaineers picked up another Casco League victory with a 32-29 decision over C.S. Lewis Jan. 15. Anna Dixon scored 12 points and Carrie Mack added 10 in the win. Falls City (7-10, 4-6 Casco) suffered a 39-28 setback to Siletz Valley Monday in nonleague play. Dixon led the Mounts with 13 points.

PERRYDALE SUSTAINS FIRST LEAGUE LOSS: In a battle of Casco unbeatens, the Pirates fell to Country Christian 46-44 on. Jan. 15, handing the Pirates their first conference loss of the season. Philipp Heusel and Josh Hiebenthal each scored 10 points in a game in which the Pirates trailed 21-13 at the half. Perrydale responded from the loss with a 70-37 win over Falls City Friday. Kellen Schwebs scored 15 points and Justin Cruickshank added 10 for Perrydale (15-4, 7-1 after Tuesday's win over Crosshill Christian). Ethan McConnell led Falls City with 21 points and Tristan Yeager had 15 points.
FALLS CITY DROPS THREE: The Mountaineers continue to struggle in league play, dropping a 63-43 decision to C.S. Lewis Jan. 15 and then Friday's 70-37 setback to Perrydale. In the loss to C.S. Lewis, McConnell led the Mounts with 21 points and George Hillebrand had 13 points. Monday, Falls City fell to Siletz Valley 67-30 in a nonleague contest. McConnell scored 18 points to lead the Mounts (3-16, 0-7).
