DALLAS -- Dallas High senior Dani Ackerman was one of five players to sign letters of intent to play for the Corban University softball team for the 2014 season.

Ackerman, a 5-foot-4 catcher, will play her senior season for the Dragons this spring. She's twice been named to the Mid-Willamette Conference all-league first team for her play behind the plate during her sophomore and junior seasons.

As a junior, Ackerman led Dallas with a .540 batting average and 47 hits and was second on the team in runs scored with 38. Behind the plate, she committed just three errors for a fielding percentage of .982.

She was named to the Class 5A all-state third team for her efforts in 2012.
