Former Central High standout Tanner Omlid is up for two Oregon Sports Awards.

INDEPENDENCE -- Former Central High standout Tanner Omlid has been nominated for two Oregon Sports Awards.
Omlid, a three-sport standout for the Panthers from 2008-12, is a finalist for both the Johnny Carpenter Prep Athlete of the Year award (in Classes 1A-4A) as well as for the Male Prep Basketball Player of the Year honor.
Omlid is currently a freshman cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point (N.Y.), where he is also a member of the men's basketball team.
Online fan voting for the awards will continue at www.oregonsportsawards.com until Feb. 8.
The 61st annual Oregon Sports Awards will be held Feb. 10 in the Stanford Theater at the Tiger Woods Center at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton.
