POLK COUNTY -- Here are the Polk County high school sports results for Tuesday, Jan. 29, which occured after the Itemizer-Observer went to press.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WOODBURN 58, DALLAS 46: Spencer McCarron scored 12 points to lead the Dragons in the Mid-Willamette Conference loss at home.

CENTRAL 42, NEWPORT 36: Panthers pick up their third Oregon West Conference game of the season to improve to 14-4, 3-2.

CROSSHILL CHRISTIAN 68, FALLS CITY 40: Mountaineers still searching for their first Casco League win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

CENTRAL 64, NEWPORT 35: Panthers pick up another blowout Oregon West Conference win, led by Catherine Cutsforth's 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

FALLS CITY 33, CROSSHILL CHRISTIAN 31: Mountaineers hold off Crosshill for their seventh win of the season. Falls City improves to 7-11, 5-6.
