ALBANY -- The Dragons boys and girls traveled to Bryant Park in Albany Saturday to face off against a large field at the Harrier Classic.

The girls placed 14th out of the 20 teams competing in the varsity 5,000 meters. Carleen Fall led the team with a 35th-place finish and a time of 21 minutes, 15 seconds.

She was followed by Angie Sletten (56th, 22:06), Catherine Rocak (78th, 22:44), Elizabeth Sutton (86th, 22:53), Alena Voss (97th, 23:21), Alyssa Miller (104th, 23:29) and Anne Barrientos (106th, 23:30).

Voss, Miller and Barrientos all had season bests.

The boys team finished 17th out of 23 teams without Thain Irwin who has been out with a strained hip injury, but should be back soon.

Michael Osborn led the Dragons with a 41st-place overall finish and time of 17:37. Isaak Tichenor and T.J. Cross finished together in 81st and 82nd, respectively, with a time of 18:19 for both. Seth Fast finished 94th (18:31) and Jesse Stuhr was 107th (18:46). Mathew Hofenbredl and Tyson Janssen rounded out the team with finishes of 127th (19:11) and 153rd (20:25) respectively.

"We had a few guys put up their season bests so that was encouraging, but we still need to step it up if we want to qualify for state as a team," Tichenor said.

"We are about fourth in the league right now and we need to move up to second. I probably won't get there individually so I am focused on doing the best I can so we can get there as a team," he added.

The Dragons will look to get healthy and improve their times at the Adidas XC Classic at Willamette Mission Park near Gervais on Saturday.
