Larry D. Green

March 23, 1944 - September 6, 2017

Larry D. Green, a resident of Dallas, died on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Larry was born on March 23, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John and Bess Green.
The family moved to Dallas in 1947. Larry graduated from Dallas High School in 1962.
Larry married DeAnn Schellenberg on Aug. 26, 1966, in Dallas.
He received a junior accounting degree from Merritt Davis and attended Grace Bible Institute and Arizona Bible College.
Larry was a farmer for most of his life, spending the majority of that time with his father-in-law and brothers-in-law at Schellenberg Farms.
He had also worked for area farmers; Hershel Wait, Marvin Fast and Stapleton Farms. Prior to moving to the family farm, he worked with The Arlie Walker Juvenile Shelter in Dallas for several years.
Larry and DeAnn traveled to the Philippines and Belgium on church construction missions.
He was a charter member of Faith Evangelical Free Church. Larry has been a Sunday school teacher and served on the Elder Board and past Chairman for over 35 years. He enjoyed Biblical studies.
Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing table games. Larry loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnn; daughter, Linda (Paul) Bibler; son, Anthony (Danita) Green; brothers, John, Robert, Thomas and James Green; sisters, Becky Green and Peggy Geisler; along with grandchildren, Christina (Bryan) Harmon, Rachel and Gary Lipp; and great-grandchildren Michael and Melyssa Lipp. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Bess.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Interment will be in Salt Creek Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church memorial fund or Faith Christian School Scholarship Program in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, who is caring for the family.
