Douglas James McClintock, a resident of Tri Cities, Washington, passed away on Nov. 18, 2018.
Doug was born in Dallas on Jan. 10, 1962. He is the son of James and Zora Ann (Hiebenthal) McClintock and was raised in Vancouver, Washington.
When Doug was a child, the family enjoyed spending the summertime together water-skiing and riding dirt bikes in Camas Valley. During the winter it was snowmobiling at Mt Saint Helens.
Doug was on the high school diving team and competed in State competitions. He graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School in 1980.
He moved to the Umatilla/Hermiston area; there, he and his brother worked for their dad, helping load barges on the Columbia River. Doug later moved to the Tri Cities, where he met and then married Darcy Darling in August 1989, at his mother’s home in Monmouth.
Doug worked for Waste Management of Kennewick for 31 years before moving to Oak Harbor, Washington, in August 2018. Doug loved fishing, hunting, riding his quad, Dune Buggies and Motor Cycles. He enjoyed riding in the Ukiah Oregon Mountains and going to the Oregon Coast/Dunes.
He is survived by his wife, Darcy; son David Darling; mother Zora Ann McClintock; brother Steven (Susan) McClintock; sister Jennifer (Justin) Tutka; his two grandsons Blake and Brayden Darling; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m. at Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick, Washington. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date in early spring 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to Jennifer Tutka, in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, who is caring for the family.
