Joseph “Joe” Isham, a resident of Dallas, died on Feb. 4.
Joe was born on Sept. 22, 1961, in Bandon, the son of Bill and Roseann Isham.
Joe lived in Eugene and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1979. He attended U of O and Lane Community College.
Joe entered the U.S. Air Force in 1980, and served for nine years as an air traffic control operator.
Joe married Rachelle Wyland on Nov. 3, 1990. They settled in Dallas that same year.
Joe worked as a corrections officer and self-defense instructor at the Federal Correctional Institute in Sheridan for 21 years until his retirement in 2011.
Joe enjoyed coaching Kids Inc. baseball. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and crabbing, and motorcycling. He liked playing pool and poker with friends. He liked music, especially old-time rock ’n’ roll.
He is survived by his wife Rachelle; daughters Mary (Karl) Safko, Lauren Isham and fiancée, Zach Lustyk; son, Alex Isham; parents, Bill and Roseann Isham; brothers, Ted (Becky), Will (Julie) and Brian Isham.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Monmouth Christian Church. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery.
