Marvin Ross, 69, a resident of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, after suffering a massive stroke.
On Feb. 10, 1973, he married the love of his life, Ruthanne Gillett. He served two years in Vietnam as an engineer working on D-7 Cats. From 1974-1984, he worked for Boise Cascade in Valsetz. After the mill closed, he and his family relocated to Dallas and eventually began working for Siltec for 20 years. After Siltec relocated, he eventually worked for Salem-Keizer Public Schools, where he retired after 10 years as a custodian, to care for his late wife.
Marvin was a devoted, husband, father, “papa,” and friend. He loved working on old cars, particularly Ford pickups.
He is survived by his children Willard (Karrie) Ross, Timothy (Crystal) Ross and Shannon (Adrian) Porter along with seven grandchildren and a sister Sandra Armenikas.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the mortuary at 287 SW Washington St., Dallas, OR 97338, with military honors. There will be cookies and coffee to follow.
