Austin Lloyd Taber passed away comfortably and peacefully near his home on January 7, 2019.
Lloyd grew up in New York State in a military family. After he served his enlistment, he migrated to California where he worked as a real estate developer. It was there he met Patt, his wife of 55 years, and where they decided to migrate once again to Pedee to raise their family. We may have been isolated geographically, but our father never allowed our world to be small. He cultivated in his children a love for the world, of the mind, generosity for others, and the curiosity of a traveler. His expectations for us never exceeded our abilities, but rather challenged us to be the best we could. He was a writer, a counselor, a thinker, and we shared him with scores of exchange students over several decades. Our house was always open to others. Lloyd passed away surrounded by his children, his extended family, his grandkids and his wife. He knew he was loved and we will miss him dearly.
We will hold a Celebration of Life at the family home on Sunday, January 13, from 2-5 p.m. 649 SW Hayter Street.
