William Harvey White Jr. (Bill) passed away at home at the age of 71 in Dallas.
Bill was born on July 13, 1947, in San Mateo, California. Bill went peacefully to be with his Lord and savior after succumbing to a bravely fought battle with cancer.
Bill was the son of William and Marie White. The family moved to Albany in 1948, where he graduated from Albany Union High School in 1965.
Bill then met and married the love of his life, Janet Lee Teachout (White), of Dallas, on Dec. 28, 1968. They just celebrated 50 amazing years together. Bill worked for Pacific Power for 42 years as a Journeyman Lineman. Following his heart for God and people, he went to Indonesia three different times to help provide electricity to remote hospitals in the jungles of Borneo. He was also very active and well-loved in the Dallas City community.
He was a well-known presence at both his children’s and grandchildren’s many various sporting events. Bill was always quick to lend a helping hand to his family members, friends, church and many others in need throughout the community.
Bill also loved to spend time with all six of his grandkids. He was an avid fisherman and car restoration enthusiast. Bill was also a member of the Pickleball Club, where he truly enjoyed the comradery of everyone he played with. Bill never wavered in his faith in God, and his steadfast love for family and friends was evident throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father William Harvey White Sr.
He is survived by his mother Marie White; wife Janet White (Teachout); four children, Jason (Tami) White, Jeremy (Regan) White, Becky (Noel) Gill, and Bieu (Siu Hoan) Quach; six grandchildren Jorhdyn, Andrew, Emilee, Aaron, Dallas, and Kalie; one sister Nancy (Tim) Wilson; and two nephews Nate and Zach.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Grace Community Church.
