Dorothy Ediger Brown Jurgenson

August 8, 1923 - January 3, 2019

Heaven gained an angel. An angel that baked the best Norwegian almond bars and huckleberry pies. An angel that played Bean Bag Baseball into her 95th year. An angel that performed the art of Norwegian Rosemaling until she couldn’t hold a paint brush anymore.
Dorothy was active in the Sons of Norway, where she developed close friendships that she cherished.
Dorothy was born and raised in Dallas, where she graduated from Dallas High School in 1941. She worked many years at the Motor Vu Drive-In but went on to become a secretary at OSU Extension Service from 1942 until her retirement in 1985.
Dorothy married Martin Harris Jurgenson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas on Jan. 20, 1956. Together they enjoyed their beach house at Beverly Beach. They also traveled the world in their retirement years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, and her three brothers.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Greg (wife, Linda); grandchildren, Leah and Brett; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, 287 SW Washington St, Dallas, OR. A reception will follow. To leave an online condolence for the family, visit
