Janice Marjory Warden passed away in the early morning hours of Jan. 2, 2019, at the age of 89. Janice was born to Guy and Esther Head in Libby, Montana.
The family moved to Oregon when Janice was a young girl and eventually settled in the logging town of Valsetz. She attended High School at Valsetz, where she met her future husband Vernon Warden. The family moved to Monmouth in 1963, where Janice resided until her death. Janice was a stay-at-home mom until she decided to re-enter the work force working for Mountain Fir Lumber Company in the office, eventually becoming the office manager.
Janice was very active in the Monmouth community, volunteering for the Monmouth Senior Center, Ella Curran Community Food Bank, the Monmouth Library, the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She also volunteered for the City of Monmouth Budget Committee.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband Vernon and her daughter Jill. She leaves behind three children, Barry and his wife Teresa, Chris, and Stacey Cortez and her husband Alex. She also is survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She loved to travel and meet people. She loved her family and friends deeply. She will be greatly missed.
