DALLAS -- Jim Brown and his Orchestra opened this year's free Sounds of Summer concert series July 11 at the Rotary Performing Arts Stage.

Concerts run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays through August 29. The Rotary stage is located next to the Academy building in Dallas.

Concerts are funded through donations from local businesses and individuals.

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This year's performers in order of appearance are:

♦ The Touchables -- July 18.

♦ Renee Hill Band -- July 25.

♦ Faithful Heart -- Aug. 1.

♦ Sawtooth Mountain Boys -- Aug. 8.

♦ Dixie Land Jazz Band -- Aug. 15.

♦ Basa Basa -- Aug. 22.

♦ Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts -- Sept. 29.
