Details for NOTICE: Oregon Home Inspector

Updated

NOTICE: Oregon
Home Inspector
Certification Law
(OAR 812) requires that
all businesses that
advertise home
inspections be licensed
and certified with the
Construction Contractors
Board. A license means
a contractor has a bond
and insurance.
Certification means the
inspector has passed a
test and must comply
with standards of
practice and behavior.
For your protection,
verify an inspector's
certification, license and
claims history at
www.ccb.state.or.us or
503-379-4621 (CCB
staff). Inspector's
licensed as general
contractors from 1991-97
are exempt from
certification. Pest and
dry rot inspectors usually
need a CCB license but
not certification.
