Polk County Public Health Administrator Naomi Adeline kicked off the 2023 “FEM in STEM” speaker series this year at Western Oregon University in a presentation last week. She spoke about her journey from the Seychelles, a small island nation off the east coast of Africa, to medical school and then on to Oregon where, as a public health physician, she now heads the county’s public health program. The WOU “FEM in STEM” series presents women who have achieved outstanding careers in STEM fields – science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
