FALLS CITY — The Siletz Tribal Charitable Fund gave the weekly Falls City Produce Giveaway a $1,400 grant for fuel to transport the produce from Marion-Polk Food Share in Salem to Mountain Gospel Church in Falls City.

Each Friday since early 2014, volunteers have hosted the produce giveaway, which gives away up to 2,000 pounds of produce and bread each week.

“Without this grant, we would have had a very difficult time keeping this program running,” said giveaway volunteer Charlie Flynn. “We are totally manned by volunteers who love coming down and helping.”

The giveaway begins at 4 p.m. each Friday at the church, 257 N. Main St., Falls City.
