Two women were arrested outside Dallas Aug. 30 after reports of animal neglect at their horse stable.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant at 8 a.m. at 2527 James Howe Road. They found 32 total horses on the property. However, 18 were in such poor condition three had to be euthanized by a vet on site that day, officials said. Six were categorized as malnourished, but were left on the property, and another nine were seized and left in the care of a non-profit animal shelter.
