They worked together to build Richard McDonald Trucking. He hauled logs up and down Highway 101 for 20 years.

Dick was an athlete and loved sports. He played and coached softball into his 50s. He loved animals, his family, friends, his grandchildren, and nature. He was known as the “lawn mower man” at Willamette Lutheran Homes where he volunteered. He loved polishing rocks, driving his winning log truck in parades, and his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry and son, Richard Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Raeann; sons, Shane of Seattle, Sam of Fall City, and Dustin (Nakomi) of West Salem; daughter, Lisa of Seattle; brothers, Tom (Sue), Bill (Judy), and Harper, all of Dallas, and Joe of Harrisburg; sister, Mary (Tim) Weiss of Dallas; and 11 grandchildren.
